Workshop Description: Principal evaluation should be a rich, collaborative, evidence-driven process that is a source of valuable data about the skill of the school leader. In addition, such a process can, and must, serve to grow school Administrators into true leaders of learning.
Dr. Paula Bevan will provide us with a sample set of tools and a process for supervising and evaluating school leaders in reliable and valid ways. Dr. Bevan will facilitate a discussion about the issues connected to pay for performance for school leaders. Dr. Bevan will provide a current example of a school leader pay for performance system, along with tools for its use. For those schools using the Framework for Teaching for teacher evaluation, this process is a parallel system for leaders.
About the Instructor:
Dr. Bevan has been an elementary school teacher, a university professor and the Lead National trainer/Consultant for the Educational Testing Service since 1999.
She is a national consultant for the Danielson Group, whose members work directly with Charlotte Danielson to deliver training and consultation around programs connected to the Framework for Teaching, assessment of educational professionals, and other issues of school reform.
