About this Course:
The purpose of this course is to become familiar with Charlotte Danielson’s Enhancing Professional Practice: A Framework for Teaching, and it’s use in the development of improved instructional practices for teaching and the resulting positive impact on student learning.
Outcomes of the course include:
- Applications for models of supervision/evaluation
- Applications for models of mentoring
- Development of a common language for talking about and assessing teaching
- Clear levels of performance for teacher assessment, with emphasis on reflection and self-assessment
- Structured events through which mentors or supervisors can guide beginning teachers in the development of essential professional skills
About the Instructor:
Marty Sorrell Lacasse is a Music Educator for the Stowe Schools. She has extensive training in the use of Charlotte Danielson's "Framework for Teaching" and its application for mentoring and supervision/evaluation. Marty is the Co-Facilitator of Lamoille South Supervisory Union's Colleague Support System where she is responsible for the ongoing training and support of mentors in their work with new teachers.
