REAL Entrepreneurship Teacher Institute

Dates: June 23 – 27, 2008 8am - 3pm

Location: Vermont Tech Campus, Randolph

Cost: $2,000 per participant, which includes tuition, curriculum in hard copy and CD, one year license fee, 3 undergraduate or graduate credits, lodging at Vermont Tech, and meals.

($1,300 for second participant from same school.)

Partial scholarships may be available on a limited basis

Course Description:

The REAL Entrepreneurship Institute is a 38 contact-hour institute that prepares high-school, post-secondary, and community-based organization educators to teach REAL Entrepreneurship, the handson curriculum which helps students learn to think, plan, and act as entrepreneurs. Institute participants experience the highlights of the REAL curriculum as their students will, interact with experienced REAL instructors, and prepare lesson plans.

The REAL Institute is a rewarding week of relevant professional development which includes:

  • REAL methods and philosophy (how REAL uses the experiential techniques to reach a wide range of learners)
  • Curriculum and Materials (guidance using the manuals and software which make up the REAL Curriculum)
  • The Business Planning Process
  • Small Business Content (marketing, operations, and financials)
  • Course Lesson Planning (tailoring the curriculum to the needs of your students)
  • Program Implementation (scheduling, marketing, recruitment & documentation)
