This one-day workshop will focus on mathematics learning and teaching: How does one learn mathematics Why do learning problems occur in mathematics? What can we do to improve math instruction for all? Professor Sharma will also discuss learning problems in mathematics: assessment, evaluation and instruction diagnosis and remediation of dyscalculia, and curriculum development in mathematics.
Professor Mahesh Sharma, former President of Cambridge College, is an internationally recognized expert in the psychology of mathematics learning. He has worked in the field of mathematics education for over 30 years, and his teaching has inspired the creation of the Mathematics Institute.
