Teacher evaluation isn't as difficult as it sometimes seems. With the right tools and a little guidance, a system for teaching, evaluation and compensation can be developed that is more rigorous, less work for evaluators and more useful for teachers.
In this workshop, participants will learn:
• The characteristics of effective teacher evaluation that is growth focused;
• The role the Framework for Teaching can play in effective teach evaluation;
• Tips for making teacher evaluation less time-consuming, and strategies for streamline report writing;
• the pros and cons of compensation-based teaching evaluation;
• examples of districts that currently use the Framework for evaluation of teaching;
• mistakes to avoid in developing a teacher evaluation system;
• and examples of districts that currently use the Framework as part of a compensation-based model.
